What is SwimCamp?

SwimCamp is a two month program designed to help swimmers transition from swim lessons into swim team.  (For more information on current and upcoming SwimCamps, see links at the bottom of this page)

How good of a swimmer does my child need to be to participate in SwimCamp?

SwimCamp participants need to be able to swim 25 yards (across the pool) either freestyle or backstroke, or have pass American Red Cross Level 4 swim lessons, and have coach approval after try-out.

How much does SwimCamp Cost?

$110 per session if registered before registration deadline

$120 per session if registered after registration deadline

If participant is already USA Swimming Registered cost is $90 per session

Is there a minimum age?

Participants should be at least six years old

How often are practices?

Summer SwimCamp (Provo & Springville Pools):  1/2 hour practices 5 days a week (M-F)

Fall & Winter SwimCamp (Only offered at Springville Pool):  45 minute practices 3 days a week (M,W,F)

Tryouts:  What does my swimmer need to bring?  What happens?

Swimmers should wear a swimsuit and goggles.  Long hair should be tied back.  Swimmers should also bring a towel.  During the tryout, swimmers will be asked to swim on length of the pool doing freestyle and one length of the pool doing backstroke.

What are the dates of the upcoming SwimCamps?

  • Fall 2010:  September 13 - November 11 (M,W,F  45 min. sessions  Springville Pool only)
  • Winter 2011:  January 10 - March 11 (M,W,F  45 min. sessions   Springville Pool only)
  • Summer 2011:  June 6 - July 22 (M-F  30 min. sessions  Springville and Provo Pools)

When and where is practice?

  • Sometime between 4 pm -6:30 pm

Springville Pool: (For exact times see specific SwimCamp information by clicking link below)

  • Sept - May sometime between 4 pm - 6:30 pm
  • June - August sometime between 7:30 am - 9:30 am

How does my child join?

Complete the following steps:

  1. Schedule a try-out (  Click:  FALL 2010 TRY OUT SIGN UPS)
  2. Come to the pool and do the scheduled try-out
  3. See chart, "After Try-outs, Then What?"  (Click here to see chart)
