Kearns Meet information

Parents,

The Kearns swim team would like to give us some helpful information for the meets this week. There will be NO practice held Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday this week. If you will be attending one of the meets this week please read the information below.

  • Combining Heats:  Please note that some heats WILL be combined--it is already known that some of the longer butterfly events (12 & under 100's & also 13 & over 200's) will be combined.  All combining of heats will be clearly marked on the heat sheets.
  • Legal suits:  Please ensure that your swimmers compete in legal suits--this includes only 1 suit to be worn in competition.  More detailed information on the new swim suit rules is available at:  http://www.usaswimming.org/USASWeb/ViewMiscArticle.aspx? TabId=213&Alias=Rainbow&Lang=en&mid=220&ItemId=3422

All officials from your team are welcome and encouraged to work.  For the BC, please have them email Cathy in advance if possible to let me know of their availability (cathvaughan@gmail.com) or they are also welcome to simply show up at the officials meeting which will be held at approximately 7:30 a.m. each day of the meet.

Also, if you have any swimmers on your team that are deaf, let me know before the meet so we can set up false start rope.

We pride ourselves in taking excellent care of the coaches, officials, and volunteers that are at the meet.  We have snacks and drinks in the hospitality room in the SW corner by the scoreboard, and we will also provide a meal during each session.

Please ask your team to park at the Kearns High lot and cross at the stop light rather than park in the fitness center lot.

Please check in with me when you arrive the first day to receive your team’s caps and your coach’s packet. Awards will be ready at the end of the meet so please take them with you.  Also, encourage your swimmers in the Invitational that might be receiving a high point trophy to stay for the presentation. Backups of the meet will be available for download on our teams website, kyat.org.

We are working towards providing all of the backup timers from our team and our high school team.  If we don’t accomplish this, we will ask for volunteers.

The results will be posted using Realtime and we will have wi-fi in the pool area so you and the parents can check results or splits using a wireless internet device.

Please encourage your team to visit the Poco Loco booth in the lobby.  We will also have tee shirts and programs available at the snack bar in the lobby.

The B-C meets should get done around 12:30pm each day

The invite should get done around 8:15pm the first night, 5:56pm the 2nd night and 5:45pm the 3rd day.
